Short Film Festival
Due to the continued pandemic and our desire to be as free flowing as possible with regards to our filming efforts, we have delayed the script writing contest.
Please earmark this page to stay up-to-date on the latest developments.
Starting March 1st, we will receive scripts at brokenartsentertainment@gmail.com. Any scripts received before then, will not be considered.
Requirements:
Scripts must be written in US Play Standard, Samuel French, or US screenplay Standard formats. The scripts must total 15 pages or less. Deadline will be April 20th, 2020. A $10 non-refundable processing and production fee will be required.
Winners would have their show filmed (Zoom, Camera, etc.), edited, a composer will create a score, full videography and cinematography, etc. One to two shows produced per month from June 2021 to December 2021. This will culminate in a festival in March 2022, location to be determined.
Rights would be negotiated with the writer. Shared rights would be the initial starting point. This would include rights to submission and rights for distribution. Adaptations to film from plays will be a collaborative effort between Broken Arts writers and the original writer of the work.

This is currently in the works. Originally part of the Quarantine Bake-Off's first on-line theater festival, this has turned into a live action film project put on by Broken Arts Entertainment. Stanley Kimball takes on the part of Dag, while Zara Boss takes on Mo-Mo. This piece is called Quarantine 2038 and takes place 18 years in the future as both Dag and Mo-Mo are teenagers who have been called to quarantine. A love story that demonstrates what the world might look like 18 years after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sequel is scripted and we've added many more roles. The quarantine for the Quarantines is being extended and that's preventing life saving medication from getting to the outlanders. Zara Boss and Stanley Kimball reprise their roles. Stephon is played by Jack Davis. Randy Hunt plays David Montgomery, Mo-Mo's father and Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Eradication (C.I.D.E.). We add Emma Eukitis (Playground Rules, Kimberly) as Mel who is twelve years old and sick. The are three other additions as well and once confirmed we'll add those to the roster.
